Why work with a real estate agent?

A home search raises questions a listing page can’t answer. Alex helps you check the details and decide what to do next.

What an agent helps you work through

  1. Check the listing’s history. Review available MLS pricing, price changes, and time on market, and ask the listing agent about missing information. A portal’s days on site may differ from MLS days on market.
  2. Put the asking price in context. Compare recent closed sales, competing homes, condition, and location before deciding what to offer or how to price your own home.
  3. Negotiate with a plan. Work through the offer price, deposit, contingencies, repair requests, and closing date so you understand the terms you’re proposing or accepting.
  4. Look beyond the purchase price. Identify condo or HOA fees, documents to review, and questions for your lender, inspector, or settlement professional before deadlines pass.
  5. Keep the process moving. Coordinate tours, inspections, appraisal access, and contract deadlines while keeping you informed about the next decision.
  6. Make informed selling decisions. Set a pricing and marketing plan, weigh internet-display choices, and compare offers by their terms as well as their headline price.

Why a portal may show “Price Unknown”

Bright MLS’s October 20, 2026 changes add seller choices for displaying the list price, price history, and days on site on consumer websites. Depending on those choices, a portal may omit those details. This varies by listing; it doesn’t mean every home’s price or history is hidden.

An agent with Bright MLS access can review the information available in the MLS and follow up with the listing agent when a public listing leaves questions unanswered.
