Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how AlexH Media LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”), operating DC Spot and dcspot.com (the “Site”), collects, uses, and shares information about you when you visit the Site, subscribe to our newsletter, or contact us about media or real estate services. It also includes our text message terms.

Information we collect

Information you give us

• Contact forms and email. Your name, email address, phone number (optional), and anything you write in your message.
• Newsletter. Your email address, and your first name if you choose to give it. Subscriptions are managed through Kit (formerly ConvertKit) and are confirmed by email before you are added.
• Bookings. If you book a call through Calendly, Calendly collects the details you enter under its own privacy policy and shares the booking with us.
• Text messages. If you give us your phone number and agree to be contacted, we may text you about your inquiry as described in the SMS terms below.
• Sponsorship and media services. Business contact details, billing information, and the materials you send us for a campaign.

Information collected automatically

• Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4, set up through Google’s Site Kit plugin, to understand which pages are read and how people arrive. Google uses your IP address only to work out an approximate location and does not store it, and it provides us aggregate reports. Cookies: _ga, _ga_RQHHGGEN2L.
• Advertising measurement. We use the Meta Pixel to measure whether people who see DC Spot on Facebook or Instagram visit the Site, and to reach Site visitors with ads on Meta platforms. Cookie: _fbp. You can opt out (see “Your choices”).
• Server logs. Our hosting provider (Hostinger) records IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps for security and performance.
• Cookies and similar tools. See our Cookie Policy for the full list and how to control them.

Information from other sources

Google reviews displayed on the Site are public reviews published on Google and shown through a third-party widget (Trustindex). We do not collect the reviewers’ personal information beyond what Google makes public.

How we use information

• To respond to your inquiries and provide media and real estate services you ask about.
• To send the DC Spot newsletter and updates you signed up for.
• To communicate with you by email, phone, or text message about your inquiry or booking.
• To understand how the Site is used and improve it.
• To measure and run advertising for DC Spot on Meta platforms.
• To protect the Site, prevent abuse, and comply with law.

We collect only what we need for these purposes. Our forms ask for your email and, where useful, your name and phone number. We do not ask for or store payment card details on the Site.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not share your phone number or contact-form details with third parties for their own marketing. We share information only with:

• Service providers that help us run the Site and our communications: Hostinger (hosting), Kit (email), Google (analytics, reviews display, and Site Kit), Meta (advertising measurement), Trustindex (reviews widget), Calendly (scheduling), and Elementor (site builder and accessibility widget). They may process data only to provide their services to us.
• The Meta Pixel, which sends Meta information about your visit for advertising measurement. Under some state privacy laws this may count as “sharing” for targeted advertising. You can opt out at any time using the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in the footer.
• Samson Properties, when you ask about buying or selling a home, because real estate brokerage services are provided through that brokerage.
• Law enforcement or others when required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a sale or reorganization of our business.

Your choices

• Newsletter. Unsubscribe with the link at the bottom of every email, or email us.
• Text messages. Reply STOP to any message (details below).
• Analytics and advertising cookies. Use the notice shown on your first visit, or the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in the footer, to opt out. We also honor Global Privacy Control browser signals as an opt-out.
• Access, correction, and deletion. Email hello@dcspot.com to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. We will verify your request using the email address on file and respond within 45 days. If we decline a request, we will tell you why and you may appeal by replying to our response.

Residents of Virginia, Maryland, California, and other states with consumer privacy laws may have additional rights, including the right to opt out of targeted advertising, the right to confirm whether we process your data, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We extend these choices to all visitors. We do not use your data for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

Children

The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Data retention

We keep contact-form messages and inquiry emails for as long as needed to respond and for our records, generally up to 3 years. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe, after which Kit retains a suppression record so we do not email you again. Google Analytics keeps event-level data for up to 14 months. Real estate transaction records are kept by the brokerage as required by Virginia law.

Security

The Site uses HTTPS encryption, and we limit access to personal information to the people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Links to other sites

The Site links to event organizers, businesses, ticket sellers, and social networks. Their privacy practices are their own. Read their policies before you share information with them.

SMS / Text Message Terms and Conditions

By providing your phone number and consenting to be contacted, you agree to the following SMS terms:

We use SMS to confirm appointments, send reminders, and notify clients of schedule updates or important changes related to real estate and media services.

You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Just text “STOP” to opt out. After you send the SMS message “STOP” to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. If you want to join again, just sign up as you did the first time and we will start sending SMS messages to you again.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. Message frequency may vary. If you have any questions about your text plan or data plan, it is best to contact your wireless provider.

Data will not be sold or shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information, including your phone number, to outside parties. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, as long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our tools or the law change. The date at the top shows the latest version. Significant changes will be noted on the Site.
