Refund and Cancellation Policy
Last updated: September 7, 2026
This policy applies to sponsored posts, Instagram collaborative posts, link-in-bio placements, newsletter placements, website articles, brand ambassadorships, and any other media services you buy from AlexH Media LLC, doing business as DC Spot (“we,” “us,” “our”). It does not apply to real estate brokerage services, which are provided through Samson Properties under a separate written agreement, and it does not apply to free content on dcspot.com, which never requires payment.
1. Quotes, invoices, and payment
Every engagement starts with a written quote or agreement that lists the deliverables, dates, and fees. Fees are due as stated on your invoice. Work is scheduled once payment or the agreed deposit is received. Prices on our media kit are starting points and can change until a quote is accepted.
2. Cancelling or rescheduling before the work is done
- More than 7 days before the scheduled shoot, send date, or publication date: you may cancel for a full refund of any prepaid fees, minus any non-recoverable costs we have already incurred for your project (for example, purchased props, travel, or third-party fees), which we will itemize.
- 7 days or less before the scheduled date: 50 percent of the fee is retained to cover the reserved date and preparation. The remainder of any prepaid amount is refunded.
- Rescheduling: you may move a shoot or send date once at no charge with at least 48 hours’ notice. Further changes, or changes with less notice, are treated as a cancellation under the rule above.
3. After the work is done
Once a shoot has taken place, or content has been produced, sent, or published, the fee is earned and is not refundable. This includes newsletter blurbs that have been sent, posts that have gone live, and articles that have been published. If you ask us to remove published content, we will remove it within 3 business days, but no refund applies.
4. Revisions
Each deliverable includes one round of reasonable revisions before it goes live, limited to factual corrections and brand accuracy. Editorial voice, structure, and the facts we report stay with DC Spot. Requests that change the agreed scope are quoted separately.
5. Performance is not guaranteed
We share past reach and engagement so you can judge the fit, but views, clicks, followers, sales, and other results depend on the platforms and the audience and are not guaranteed. Refunds are not issued because a post, article, or newsletter did not reach a hoped-for number.
6. If we cancel
If we cannot deliver an agreed service for reasons on our side (illness, a platform outage, a scheduling conflict we caused), we will offer a new date first. If that does not work for you, we refund the fee for the undelivered part of the engagement in full within 10 business days.
7. Ambassadorships and multi-month packages
Retainers are billed monthly unless your agreement says otherwise. Either side may end a retainer with 30 days’ written notice. Fees for a month already started are earned; fees prepaid for later months are refunded.
8. How refunds are paid
Approved refunds go back to the original payment method within 10 business days of approval. Card and payment-processor fees that are not returned to us are not refunded.
9. Questions and disputes
Email hello@dcspot.com within 14 days of the issue and we will work it out directly. This policy is part of our Terms of Use, and Virginia law applies.
