The Tysons Club has broken ground on its private shooting range and cigar club at 8453 Tyco Road. The invitation-only venue is planned as a members’ club rather than a public walk-in range, with membership expected to stay in the low hundreds.

Tysons Club intends on completing construction by the end of Dec 2026, followed by a soft opening during the first week of Jan 2027.

What has changed at The Tysons Club?

The project has moved from approvals and planning into construction. Fairfax County’s Board of Zoning Appeals approved the special permit on October 23, 2024, allowing an indoor shooting range and smoking lounge at the Tyco Road property.

County records identify the approved space as suites C and K, with site approval for unit J, totaling roughly 5,500 square feet.

    What “broke ground” means here

The project is under construction, but it is not open

Tysons Club confirmed to DC Spot that work has started. Final inspections, operating policies and the opening date still have to be completed.

The current plan calls for a five-lane indoor shooting range

Tysons Club is approved for five state-of-the-art shooting lanes and will feature high-end firearms for rental, a viewing area protected by ballistically rated glass, a secure storage area, and related support space.

The club’s official website describes the range as controlled-access and says final services will be governed by club policies, safety requirements and applicable law. Guest rules, training requirements and equipment policies have not been published.

A private cigar lounge and member humidor are part of the plan

The other half of the concept is a members’ cigar lounge with 17-foot ceilings, cutting-edge air filtration and wood finishes. Tysons Club features a custom Vigilant humidor with a hand-curated collection of Padrón cigars alongside other premium cigar brands.

How membership at The Tysons Club is expected to work

This is not being marketed as a general-admission venue. The club intends membership to be limited to only a couple hundred people and says prospective members will go through vetting and interviews.

The official site calls the club an invitation-only private society and says membership is granted through private review. Pricing, membership tiers, guest access and the final application process have not been announced publicly.

The club also plans members-only events

Tysons Club says the schedule is expected to include industry events, private showings and networking socials. The lounge is designed to support business conversations and member introductions in addition to cigar service.

No opening calendar has been released. Specific hosts, event partners and attendance rules will depend on the club’s final operating policies.

When will The Tysons Club open?

The current goal is to complete construction in December 2026 and hold a soft opening during the first week of January 2027, according to Tysons Club.

That timeline can move because the project still needs to finish construction and clear the approvals required to operate. DC Spot will update this article when the club announces a firm opening date, membership details and final hours.

    Where is The Tysons Club?

The approved address is 8453 Tyco Road, suites C and K, Vienna, VA 22182, with site approval for unit J. The property is in the Tysons industrial area near Spring Hill Road and the Spring Hill Metro station.

Parking, arrival instructions and public-facing signage have not been announced. Because access is planned to be membership-based, visitors should not go to the property until the club confirms that appointments or member access have begun.
