Dulles is pursuing more business across Africa
Dulles currently has nonstop service to seven African destinations. At a July 15 MWAA committee meeting, airport officials reported that passenger volume between Dulles and African countries had increased 41 percent since 2022, while airfare revenue had risen 88 percent.
Nairobi is a route-development target, not an announced flight. No airline has confirmed Dulles–Nairobi service. That distinction matters whenever an airport discusses a city it would like to recruit.
A new 14-gate concourse is scheduled for fall 2026
MWAA says a new 435,000-square-foot concourse is scheduled to open this fall for United Airlines customers. The project adds 14 gates, direct access to the AeroTrain and more than 15 shopping and dining spaces.
Further additions are already in design. The practical point for travelers is simple: the route map is growing at the same time Dulles is adding capacity inside the airport.
