Flavor Hive is opening its first Washington DC location in Georgetown on Thursday, August 27, at 11 a.m.
The new restaurant is at 3287 M Street NW, near the western end of Georgetown’s main shopping corridor. Flavor Hive announced the opening date and time on its official Instagram account on August 25.
The opening brings the DMV-born halal fast-casual concept into DC after an expansion through Northern Virginia and Maryland. Flavor Hive is best known for its build-your-own walking taco bags, along with rice bowls, loaded fries and quesadillas.
Flavor Hive Georgetown opening: Quick facts
Flavor Hive’s announcement lists the address as 3287 M Street NW. DC zoning and preservation records use 3287 1/2 M Street NW for the same restaurant space.
What is Flavor Hive?
Flavor Hive started as a DMV food truck in 2024 and grew through short-form food videos centered on its walking tacos. The format is simple: customers choose a chip bag, then add rice, a protein, toppings and sauces directly to the bag.
The restaurant describes its food as 100% halal. Its standard menu at existing locations also includes rice and salad bowls, loaded fries, quesadillas and falafel. Build-your-own orders can combine proteins with tomatoes, cucumbers, chickpeas, pickled vegetables and several house sauces.
Flavor Hive’s official profile also advertises its food as cooked with non-seed oils. Ingredients can vary by item, so anyone with an allergy or dietary restriction should confirm the Georgetown ingredients before ordering.
What will be on the Flavor Hive Georgetown menu?
Flavor Hive had not posted a Georgetown-specific menu or ordering page by August 26. Its current Rockville menu offers the clearest preview, but opening-day items and prices could differ.

Walking taco bags
Choose a chip bag and fill it with rice, protein, toppings and sauces. Flavor Hive’s standard menu lets customers bring an unopened bag, although Georgetown’s opening-day policy has not been posted.
Rice and salad bowls
Existing locations offer customizable bowls with chicken, steak, ground beef or vegetables, plus toppings and house sauces.
Loaded fries
Seasoned fries can be built with the same proteins, vegetables and sauces used in the bowls and walking tacos.
Quesadillas and sides
The current lineup includes meat and cheese quesadillas, falafel, seasoned fries and fresh juices.
The Georgetown space replaces Harmony Cafe
Flavor Hive is replacing Harmony Cafe, which previously operated at the address. DC’s Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration canceled Harmony Cafe’s license in March after the former business was found out of operation.

Plans reviewed in 2025 described a basement-level, counter-service restaurant with dine-in and takeout. The application proposed a 1,678-square-foot space with seating for up to 20 people, according to reporting on the zoning filing. Those details came from the pre-opening application and may not perfectly reflect the finished restaurant.
The Advisory Neighborhood Commission supported the restaurant application, and the Old Georgetown Board approved an illuminated Flavor Hive wall sign with conditions. The zoning materials say the restaurant will not serve alcohol.
What to know about opening day
Flavor Hive’s announcement confirms the 11 a.m. opening but does not mention giveaways, discounts or a separate grand-opening menu. It also does not list the Georgetown restaurant’s regular weekly hours.
Earlier zoning materials proposed late-night service on Fridays and Saturdays, but those were requested hours, not a current operating schedule. Check Flavor Hive’s official locations page or its social accounts for the final Georgetown hours before making a separate trip after opening day.
How to get to Flavor Hive in Georgetown
Georgetown does not have its own Metro station. Foggy Bottom-GWU, on the Blue, Orange and Silver lines, is the closest practical stop for many visitors. The walk to the eastern edge of Georgetown takes about 15 minutes, with Flavor Hive farther west on M Street. Rosslyn is another option for visitors comfortable walking across the Key Bridge.
Several Metrobus routes run through Georgetown. The Georgetown BID’s current transportation guide lists the A58, C91, D80, D82, D94 and D96 as neighborhood routes.
Drivers can find garages near the restaurant at 3333 M Street NW, 3307 M Street NW and 3290 M Street NW. Street parking is limited, and weekday parking is prohibited along parts of M Street during the evening rush from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Check posted signs before leaving your car.
